YALS 2027 invites scholars, researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders to submit papers for presentation at the summit. This is an opportunity to share insights with over 1,000 delegates from 40+ countries, engage in critical discussions, and contribute to the evidence base on youth leadership and continental development.
Accepted papers will be presented in dedicated research sessions during the summit programme. Outstanding papers may be selected for inclusion in the YALS 2027 Summit Report, distributed to delegates, partner institutions, and stakeholders across the continent.
Eligibility: Paper presenters must have submitted their YALS 2027 delegate registration and paid the registration fee in full. This ensures every presenter is a committed participant in the summit. Submissions from individuals who have not registered and paid will not be reviewed.
Youth participation in governance, civic engagement, policy reform, and democratic processes.
Startup ecosystems, youth employment, informal economies, trade, and financial inclusion.
Environmental policy, climate adaptation, green innovation, and sustainable development.
Education reform, digital learning, vocational training, and workforce readiness.
AI, digital transformation, cybersecurity, fintech, and tech for social good.
Youth in peacebuilding, post-conflict recovery, migration, and social cohesion.
Submit an abstract of 250 to 400 words using the form below. Full papers are not required at this stage.
Papers must be relevant to at least one of the six research tracks listed above.
Papers may be empirical research, case studies, literature reviews, or policy briefs. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches are welcome.
Co-authored submissions are accepted. Indicate all authors and the presenting author in your submission.
Accepted presenters will receive detailed guidelines for their full paper or slide presentation ahead of the summit.
Each presentation slot is 15 minutes (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A).
